My fav drink at Starbucks is the ever so famous mocha frappuccino, BUT I have been on a mission to re-create it using natural, whole foods without all the refined sugar. Needless to say, I'm still perfecting it, but in the meantime, I've come up with a coconut cacao mocha frappucino that'll satisfy your sweet tooth and help ditch that sugary mocha craving! So for the coconut, chocolate, coffee lover, this is THE drink for you! (Plus, it's healthy!)
To create your own:
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 TB cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder or half cacao/half cocoa)
- 1 date, pitted
- 1/2 TB coconut oil
- 1/2 banana (*optional, but recommended)
- 1 cup ice
Other optional additions...
- 1 TB unsweetened shredded coconut (plain or toasted) (*optional)
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup cold brewed coffee (*optional)
- 1 scoop Further Food Collagen Peptides
(Use code FRUITFULCREATIONS10 for 10% off at further food.com!)
- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1/2 TB rolled oats
To break the barrier of refined sugar free, drizzle a little chocolate syrup on top.
Finally, garnish with coconut shreds and/or whipped cream.
This drink is not overly sweet, but it sure is good! Try it - that's all I ask! (I have it most mornings with my breakfast!)
